Dr. Hope Holley is a »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË Alumni who earned her undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees from the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË's School of Education. She began teaching middle school math and science at St. Joseph's Academy in Lakeland, Florida. Since then, she has taught mathematics in various high schools and middle schools for the Polk County School Board. After earning her Doctorate she worked with the University of Florida's grant funded project, Algebra Nation where she developed curriculum and trained teachers. She has had the opportunity to be a presenter at state and national mathematics teacher's conferences and she specializes in the integration of effective use of technology in the classroom to support differentiation and remediation. Dr. Holley is the mother to three children. Trey and Christopher who live in Gainesville, Florida, and Carter who lives in Winter Park, Florida.

Biography

Dr. Hope Holley is a tenured professor at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË, where she teaches across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the School of Education. A proud triple alumna of »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË, Dr. Holley earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees right on the very campus where she now inspires future educators.

Before entering higher education, Dr. Holley spent many years teaching in K–12 classrooms and working on large-scale educational initiatives focused on improving math instruction and supporting teacher development. Over the years, she has worn many hats—educator, trainer, curriculum developer, and conference presenter—each one shaped by her passion for helping both students and teachers succeed.

Dr. Holley specializes in quantitative methodology, and her research explores areas such as teacher retention, K–12 student assessment data, math instruction, and educational equity. She thrives on mentoring graduate and doctoral students as they develop into confident, capable researchers, and finds great fulfillment in guiding undergraduates along their journey toward becoming thoughtful, impactful world changers.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Holley enjoys playing golf (with varying degrees of success), cooking for friends and family, and spending quality time with loved ones. She is also the proud mom of three amazing children.

Interests

Dr. Holley enjoys college and professional sports, as well as, live theatre. She also enjoys learning the sport of golf, and especially the time she spends with friends on the course. However, her favorite interest outside of academia is spending time with her children!
